Overview

Axos Bank, originally established in 2000 as Bank of Internet USA, pioneered the online-only banking model in the United States, granting it over two decades of specialized experience in digital financial services. Its core mission revolves around providing a comprehensive suite of financial services that ingeniously leverage technology to deliver unparalleled convenience, competitive rates, and a seamless user experience, all without the substantial overhead associated with traditional brick-and-mortar branches. Over the years, Axos has significantly broadened its offerings beyond basic checking and savings accounts, now including a robust portfolio of personal loans, mortgages, auto loans, and specialized business banking solutions, thereby catering to a remarkably diverse and technologically inclined customer base.

Customer Views

What They Like

Customers consistently commend Axos Bank for its innovative and highly functional digital platform, which facilitates efficient account management and streamlined loan applications from virtually any location. A significant draw for many users includes the bank's consistently competitive loan rates and its highly attractive high-yield savings accounts, which provide tangible financial benefits. Axos Bank distinguishes itself by fully embracing technology to deliver a truly full-service banking experience, making it particularly appealing to tech-savvy individuals and businesses seeking modern, efficient financial solutions that align with a digital lifestyle. Its long-standing presence in the digital banking space also fosters a strong sense of reliability and trust among its clientele.

What They Dislike

While generally lauded for its digital convenience and extensive product variety, some online reviews indicate recurring challenges with customer service responsiveness, with users sometimes experiencing delays in getting their issues addressed. Occasional technical glitches or system issues are also reported, which can be a source of frustration for users who expect uninterrupted digital access. Furthermore, for customers accustomed to immediate, in-person support from traditional banks, the entirely online nature of Axos Bank, lacking physical branches, can be perceived as a significant limitation.

Point was great!!!! They gave me money from my home equity when no one else would. I did not qualify for refi or reverse mortgage. They were fast and the customer service was great. I recommend them, highly.

I think is a better alternative to refinance similar in my opinion to a reverse mortgage. your immediate cash flow is not impacted if what you are trying to do is control your cashflow by eliminating smaller loans that do impact your current cashflow.

This HEI was a perfect fit for me. Retired and on a fixed income, I found I was paying interest on home equity loans each month. I never seemed to be able to reduce those loans, which meant I was cash-poor each and every month. I was able to pay off all those loans, leaving me with some cash each month. The payoff will happen when I sell my home in the future.

The Point process was a lifesaver for me. It allowed me to get completely out of a lot of debt and to make the changes I wanted to make in my house to enjoy my old age. The application process was very easy - just get in what they ask you for as timely as possible. Crystal and John were two of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. They both got things done as fast as possible - we closed in a month. I see this, especially for elderly people who don't have a lot of equity in their home and can't do a reverse mortgage, as another good option.
